About Move or Die Boxing
Move or Die Boxing is a boxing gym established in 2012 in Bakersfield, California, running youth classes for ages 7-12 and adult classes for ages 13-25 at beginner through advanced level. Its stated mission is to teach boxing alongside personal growth and community, structured around a 'T.E.A.M.' teaching concept. Head coach James D. Hicks brings over 50 years of boxing, having come up through Detroit's Brewster Wheeler and Kronk recreation-center programmes, while owner Mario Cantu has trained under Hicks for 15+ years and teaches both the youth and adult classes.
