About Gracie Barra Tucson Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Self-Defense
Gracie Barra Tucson runs the standard Gracie Barra programme structure for adults and teens in Tucson, Arizona, with classes graded by skill level and a stated bullying-prevention component in the teen programme. Chief instructor Professor Enrique Villegas is a 3rd-degree black belt with over 24 years in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who trained under Rickson Gracie for four and a half years, then under American world champion Alberto Crane, and received his black belt from multiple world champion Roberto "Tussa" Alencar; he opened the academy in 2013. Two more black belts teach alongside him — Professor Albert Leyva and Professor Chris Rivera — both of whom took every belt from white to black under Villegas at this academy. All professors renew Gracie Barra's Instructor Certification Program annually, which includes a background check and CPR training.
