Apex Academy of Jiu Jitsu teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the Gardendale/Fultondale area north of Birmingham, Alabama, taking students from age 6 up and running a kids program with separate beginner and advanced classes. Head coach Murry Hyman is a black belt, working alongside Professor Cole Dobbins (black belt), brown belt Cheyenne Hyman and purple belt Lance Kennedy. A skill-building class on Tuesdays and Thursdays is the entry point for first-timers, and the academy offers a free trial class and a free day pass.
